Occidental Center for the Arts Open House
The Occidental Center for the Arts and Harmony Village are having an Open House on Sunday, Sept. 6, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the former Harmony School site located at 4008 Bohemian Highway. There will be food and music. The Mighty Chiplings, a bluegrass band made up of 14- and 15-year-olds, will play from 3 to 4 p.m. and Graystreet Band will play from 4 to 6 p.m. Come see the new Arts Center site and the new residential and commercial units for sale or lease.
Cazadero Old Time BBQ
On Sunday, Sept. 6 the Cazadero Old Time BBQ will take place at the performing art camp in Cazadero to raise money for the Cazadero Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery Elementary School and a scholarship program for Cazadero El Molino students. There will be BBQ chicken and tri tip steak. There will also be a pie contest. Those who want to enter should show up before 10 a.m. There will be a Chinese auction with a lot of good prizes. For information on the pie contest call Carolyn at 632-5054. It is family fun with kid and adult games, volleyball games, a jumpy for the kids to play on, a live band, and a horseshoe contest. Entry into the event is free. Chicken dinners are $12, and steak is $15.
Sebastopol Library sale
The Friends of the Sebastopol Library present the Fall 2009 Book Sale, held in the Forum Room of the Sebastopol Regional Library, 7140 Bodega Ave., in Sebastopol. The Book Sale continues for four days, starting Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., through Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., which is Bag Day, when a bag of books is only $5. On Thursday and Friday, Sept. 17 and 18, the book sale is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 823-7691, or visit www.sonomalibrary.org.
