This year, the Kid’s Pet Parade will celebrate 41 years of being part of the Cloverdale Citrus Fair Parade, which takes place on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m.

“It’s just a fun thing to do,” said parade founder Sharon Wiseman. “Initially it was for the young people in town — now it has grown.”

Nowadays, the pet parade is open to people of all ages. According to Wiseman, “we’re all kids.”

The parade began 41 years ago, when Wiseman had an in-home daycare in town. “I thought, ‘wouldn’t that be fun,’” she said, talking about her initial idea to gather kids and their pets for the parade.

Entry forms for the Kids Pet Parade are available online at cloverdalecitrusfair.org and at the Citrus Fair office.
