Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County has partnered with Yoobi School Supplies to provide nearly 1,000 students at Jefferson Elementary and Washington Middle School with essential school supplies.
Cloverdale community members Marta Cruz, Jeremy Decker, Kathryn Hecht, Beverlee Laird and Gus Wolter were on hand to help in distributing the supplies to students at Jefferson Elementary School.
Each student received a Yoobi classroom pack which includes: two sets of three No. 2 pencils, one set of five crayons, one set of five colored pencils, one set of five markers, one pencil sharpener, one pencil case, two erasers, one folder, three glue sticks, one ruler and one Yoobi sticker (just for fun).
Plus, each Yoobi classroom pack comes with one pair of scissors for the class to share.
“We think that school supplies should be available to every child in every classroom, and teachers should not have to spend their hard-earned money to make that happen,” said Yoobi, explaining their vision.
“To address this, Yoobi keeps a simple promise — for every Yoobi item you buy, a Yoobi item is donated to a classroom in need, right here in the U.S. Since we launched, we’ve donated school supplies to more than 3 million kids.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County is excited for this partnership with Yoobi, which aligns with a rollout of the BE GREAT Campaign for Cloverdale Kids, a $70,000 campaign to increase awareness and participation in the Cloverdale after school and summer youth programs. A campaign kick-off event is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 8th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cloverdale Clubhouse (686 Cloverdale Blvd.). The event is open to the entire community and we hope they will join us as we celebrate and exciting year to come.
