According to a statement from California Highway Patrol, on Feb. 5 at approximately 12:30 a.m., a vehicle on River Road was traveling at an unsafe speed and collided with a tree.
“At the scene, it was determined that the male driver had sustained major injuries and a female passenger sustained minor scratches with complaint of pain,” the report said.
Both the driver and passenger were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Seth Lampert, 26, of Cloverdale was determined to be the driver of a 2004 Honda Pilot that was traveling north on River Road. Morgan Bugica, 21, of Geyserville was in the front passenger seat.
According the statement from the CHP, “Lampert was traveling at an unsafe speed as he approached a left curve in the roadway. Lampert lost control of the Honda, which traveled off the roadway edge and collided with a tree.”
The CHP determined that, based on the condition of the driver seatbelt and a statement from the passenger, Lampert was not wearing a seatbelt.
The CHP reported that on Feb. 5 at 5:16 a.m., Lampert died at the hospital.
