healdsburg athletes of the week

Throughout the school year, the Tribune will name a male and female athlete of the week. Recipients will receive a sausage with two toppings, a choice of a side order and a non-alcoholic beverage from The Wurst restaurant in Healdsburg.

Hensley an emerging talent for Greyhounds

Freshman Stephanie Hensley has been a key addition for the varsity girls cross country team this year, emerging as a consistent performer each week. Hensley continued her breakout season in a pair of meets last week, logging her best league effort to date on Oct. 31 at the league finale, followed by a medal-winning performance at the Hoka 2-Mile Madness race. 

Salazar a team leader for Running Dogs

Senior cross country runner Fernando Salazar has been a great teammate and scoring member for the HHS squad this fall, contributing leadership and production each meet. Salazar is approaching peak performance this month as evidenced by an outstanding overall effort in a pair of recent meets, including a winning performance in his heat at the Hoka 2-Mile Madness race on Saturday at Montgomery.
