Food, fireworks and fun in Keiser Park
Kaboom! is back and ready to celebrate Independence Day in style. The annual fireworks extravaganza is set to take place from 4 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. The family-friendly event, features food trucks, drinks and a wide range of activities for children, culminating in an impressive fireworks display to celebrate our nation’s founding.
The event is a joint effort between the Active 20-30 Club and the Town of Windsor, and a portion of the ticket and drink sales benefits local children’s programs supported by the Active 20-30 Club.
In addition to jump houses and slides for the children, the event will be emceed by Danno, from Froggy 92.9 FM radio station. The opening act, which will feature the Pat Jordan Band, will play from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Scotty Mac Country Band will play from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and after a rendition of the National Anthem and trooping of the colors, the fireworks will kick off at 9:40 p.m.
The fireworks show normally lasts about 20 minutes.
The event will be held at Keiser Park, located at 700 Windsor Road in Windsor. Parking will be at Windsor High School for $5, which benefits Windsor High School’s Booster Club. There will also be street parking around the Town of Windsor, but many roads will be closed during the event (see map on page 2). Early arrival for parking or considering alternate methods such as UBER, LYFT, bicycling or walking to the encouraged.
Admission costs are free for children 2 and under, $5 for children ages 3 to 12, $10 for attendees 12 years and older, and $75 for VIP tickets. This cost will include food, drinks, activity venders, a kids’ area and interactive booths.
Attendees are permitted to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food, water and cameras, but are asked not bring outside alcohol, barbecues, pop-up shade tents, fireworks of any kind and weapons in order to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
