Robin & John Daniel Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage

Robin and John Daniel will be celebrating their 50th wedding Anniversary on Saturday, May 6, 2017. A gathering of friends and family will be held this evening at the Fountain Grove Inn to mark this auspicious occasion.

The pair met as children in Healdsburg, CA, after the Daniel family moved from Humble, Texas. Robin was "the girl next door” while her brother, Les Jones, became best childhood friends with “Johnny”. Throughout the years, the Jones and Daniel families spent a lot of time together hosting bridge parties, golfing & bowling. John graduated Healdsburg High School (HHS) and left for college while Robin was enjoying her high school years also at HHS (go Greyhounds!). When John returned home one summer from college, he realized he carried a flame for his best friend’s little sister - and asked her on a date. Robin and John dated for a couple of years and were married in Santa Rosa on May 6, 1967 at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

During their newlywed years, the couple lived in Stockton, CA. John was the general manager of The Stockton Inn and Robin was a dental assistant. Following the arrival of their daughter, Dana Daniel, Robin and John moved to Sierra Vista, AZ where they lived from 1975-1977, before returning to Santa Rosa where Robin helped John with his various business endeavors.

Throughout their marriage, Robin and John have enjoyed taking amazing vacations, spending time with great friends and family, attending church at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, dining at La Gare for special celebrations and spending their anniversaries on the Mendocino coast. The couple are now retired and spend their time between homes in Mesa, Arizona and Roseville, California.

Robin and John are the extraordinary parents of daughter, Dana (Julio) Alvarez of Roseville, and devoted grandparents to Joseph and Sophia Alvarez.
